Emperial Live Ceremony" DVD
Finally, Emperor live and on DVD. Over the course of Emperor's career, few people got the chance to see the band live, and those that did should feel quite lucky as Emperor are, for the most part, disbanded. "Emperial Live Ceremony" will change that.

The complement to the compact disc and VHS versions that sold briskly, this region 0 (meaning, no region block) DVD is packed with extras such as discography, photo gallery, screensavers and Dolby Digital Sound. The navigation menu allows you easy access to favorite songs, so those that vow by Emperor's debut album and self-titled MCD can check out "I Am The Black Wizards," "Night of the Graveless Souls" and "Inno a Satana" easily. However, if you're not concerned with being true, then expect "Curse You All Men!" "Thus Spake the Nightspirit," "Ye Entrancemperium" and more from "Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk" and "IX Equilibrium."

Basically, the quality is comparable to any independently released DVD, and it certainly is head over heels better than the VHS version that came out over a year ago. The sound here is also comparable to the CD version most of you have. The great aspect to seeing Emperor perform it live with professional camera work is that you really see the intricacy of the music. Packaging purists may moan over the spartan layout and design (artwork is blurry, no booklet), but to give Music Video Distributors credit the source artwork for "Emperial Live Ceremony" is absolutely awful. In any event, if you've wanted to capture Emperor live this is the only way you're going to do it, as bootleg quality is always questionable.

"Emperial Live Ceremony" is perfect for collectors and those that can never absorb enough Emperor. Full show includes: "Curse You All Men!" "Thus Spake the Nightspirit," "I Am The Black Wizards," "An Elegy of Icaros," "With Strength I Burn," "Sworn," "Night of the Graveless Souls" "Inno a Satana," "Ye Entrancemperium" and "The Loss and Curse of Reverance."
