Related news: ZYKLON have begun recording of their third album, tentatively titled Disintegrate. The album is curretly being recorded at Akkerhaugen Lydstudio in Norway with time already set at Studio Fredman for the album's mix in early February. The band have confirmed ten song titles for the album, including "Wrenched," "A Cold Grave," "Disintegrate," "In Hindsight," "Skinned and Endangered," "Vulture," "Subversive Faith," "Underdog," "Ways of the World," and "Vile Ritual."

As recording starts the band are also hard at work with final edits on their planned first DVD, titled Storm Detonation Live. Recorded at Germany's 2004 Party San Festival, the DVD will contain the band's live show plus exclusive on-the-road/backstage footage, an exclusive look into rehearsals for the band's new album and both "Psyklon Aeon" and "Core Solution" videos.

Candlelight is planning a spring release for both Disintegrate and Storm Denotation Live.

IHSAHN is currently in the finising stages of recording his first solo album. More news to follow!!!

It’s official, EMPEROR have reunited to play some exclusive shows. The band is confirmed to headline the Inferno Festival and Wacken Open air 2006!!!

The band reunited after four years to play a surprise three-song set for Norwegian metal magazine Scream's 15-year anniversary, which took place at Oslo's Rockefeller Sept. 30. 2005. The band took the scene by surprise, performed three tracks — "The Loss And Curse Of Reverence", "I Am The Black Wizards", "Inno A Satana" — and received a rapturous welcome by an ecstatic crowd. Announced as a "big surprise band," the whole arrangement was so secret that neither organizers of the magazine's anniversary party nor the band itself told their closest friends and associates. Anyone that feels they missed out, fear not, next year is when the big events take place. The surprise gig was merely a cool way to “drop the bomb” and create even bigger anticipation for the upcoming shows.

In related news, Samoth and Trym will start recording the third ZYKLON album in November and Ihsahn releasing a solo album early next year. More news to follow!

The Empire strikes back!
The title for the new Emperor album is confirmed, it will be entitled "PROMETHEUS - The Discipline of Fire & Demise". We can reveal songs titles as "The Eruption", "Depraved", "The Toungue of Fire", "The Prophet", "Thorns On My Grave". The drum tracks are all done and Emperor is currently working on the layers at the Symphonique Studio. The album will most likely be mixed in May at Akkerhaugen Lydstudio, and is aiming for an autumn release. Ihsahn has quoted the album to be "MORE OF EVERYTHING! It is very hard to make any spesific description really" - await the Emperor's return!!!

Norwegian artist Bjarne Melgaard will use some old obscure Emperor photographs in connection with some of his art exhibitions. This project will also be published in some of the bigger art magazines. Bjarne Melgaard is a well known Norwegian artist, who recently has received big recognition outside the borders of Norway.

Emperor update!
So, what's new from the Emperor camp? Well, since IX and the subsequent touring, the three of us have been busy indulging in other musical environments. Thus, avoiding the trap of monotony and exploring more territory in the vast landscapes of music.

Nonetheless, and I cannot help myself from saying this, again it's time for The Emperors Return. (Hey, was that a prediction or just a cliché? It's pompous, but it works, he, he). Yes, nine (IX) songs are ready for the fourth Emperor album. A main title is still not decided, but among the songs you will find; "The Eruption", "The Prophet" and "Depraved". So, what can I say about the new stuff? Lyrically, it will be somehow different, as it is more concretely concept-based than what we have done before. As a natural consequence of the bands work over the last decade, I think the music involves many sides of what Emperor has been doing up till now, but, since I would hate to stagnate and repeat myself, I hope many new aspects will come to the surface too. Apart from this, it would be hard (and unnecessary) to give a deeper description of the next Emperor album. There is still a lot of work to be done with the final arrangements and the actual production, so we can only promise that we will do our best. When? Well, we aim to release this album Spring 2001, but nothing is definitely set. We'll try to keep you updated when things start falling into place. So, be prepared. Before you know it, "The Empocalypse will be upon Thee".

- Samoth & Trym's new band; ZYKLON, have completed the recordings for the debut album, to be entitled "World ov Worms". The album is to be released 5th of February on Candlelight Records, and will most likely be followed up by an European tour.

- Portugueese BM-act Sirius have now recorded an Emperor cover track, which will appear as a bonus track on their second album "Spectral Transition - Dimension Sirius" (to be released next year on Samoth's label Nocturnal Art Prod.).
Samoth was invited to do the bass on the cover track, and also legendary ex-Emperor drummer Faust did participate with a few spoken word samples on the album, as well as some additional drumming (his first studio apperance since "Nightside...").

It's official, Samoth has formed a new band together with Trym!!! The band is called ZYKLON. Samoth and Trym has actually been working sporadically on material since end of 1998. Today, the band is a proper band with serious goals. Destructhor (from Myrkskog) joined permanently with the band, as a lead-guitarist, in the beginning of 2000. The band will try out a vocalist this spring, and will most likely start the recording of the debut album this summer. Zyklon can musically be described as Extreme Metal; fast, intense, brutal…

OK, things are getting out of hand now with the whole internet thing. I've been receiving a whole bunch of E-mails from people asking if Ihsahn is dead or if he's in a coma. This is totally absurd! I have also seen this on the Terrorizer forum. But please, instead of mailing me and asking me about this... visit this site and check the news. I promise you, had it been the case that Ihsahn would have been run over by a truck, you would have found it here on the site. The next time you read things like this, visit this page and if this page doesn't mention it, it's just another internet rumour. And better yet, if you know the person starting these rumours, let me know who it is and I'll make him/her famous.

There’s currently rumours out on the internet that Emperor is about to split-up. It can hereby be confirmed that such rumours are completely untrue. Emperor will however take a little break, as Ihsahn is now working on finishing his long awaited Thou Shalt Suffer album, as well as a new Peccatum MCD and full-length CD.

Emperor ended their touring term for "IX - Equilibrium" with a very sussesful show in Poland. The whole festival was however nearly cancelled by Polish authorities because of fear of spreading "Satanic activities". Emperor also had to leave out a few songs of their set due to a (fasle) bombthreat. Anyway, the Mystic Art festival turned out to be a big success for most bands performing.

Tours are over and here's the latest from Emperor.

Emperor is now working on a home video. It will mainly feature live footage from the Emperor show at the Astoria in London/ UK. But also some "on the road" handycam footage, as well as "The Loss and Curse of Reverence" video. It is scheduled to be released by the end of this year.

Candlelight Records will release a limited edition collectors digipack of "IX EquilibriuM" before Yule. It will contain a free patch, and most likely a bonus track as well. Emperor will also be featured on the new Candlelight compilation CD (also featuring new material from the very promessing new Candlelight releases of Agent Steel, Source of Tide, and Myrkskog).

Trickster G (Ulver/ Arcturus) is now working on a re-mix of the track "Sworn".

Emperor will do a headline festival in Poland on the 9th of October. Other bands palying: The Kovenant, Hypocrisy, Limbonic Art, Peccatum and Necromancer. This will be the very last show Emperor will play in connection with "IX EquilibriuM".

Emperor's live keyboarist, Charmand Grimloch, will release his new Tartaros album "The Red Jewel" through Necropolis Records in September. We urge you to check it out!!!
